In mid-October, Forbes Under 30 Summit drew thousands of entrepreneurs, millennials and celebrities to Boston to participate in four days of the interactive conference. The Under 30 Summit was designed to see what happens when more than 5,000 of the world's top innovators under 30 gather together in a revolutionary city that's becoming a power-house for young, hungry leaders and start-ups. The summit served as a catalyst for these pioneers to seize the moment and create, collaborate and conceive new ideas that can change the world. PAN was proud to be the media partner and PR agency for the event. From October 16 to 19, current and future leaders of every major field converged on Boston as the world's greatest gathering of young game changers for four days of motivating panels, pitch contests, philanthropy, music, food festivals, parties and more.

On October 16, the Under 30 Summit kicked off the conference in the "Village" that took over City Hall Plaza in the heart of Boston - just a few blocks away from the PAN office. Sunday comprised of a limited edition "Millenni-Ale" beer brewed by Sam Adams, plus a talk and book signing by Sam Adams founder Jim Koch, an Ideas Hub for attendees to explore and network, and an actual cranberry bog provided by Ocean Spray. The highlight of Sunday was the Music Festival with performances by Delta Rae, Gallant and Halsey - headlined by Under 30 alum Jason Derulo.

Monday, October 17, is when the panels and speaker sessions began - and the day had a star-studded start! Sir Richard Branson, Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Alba helped kick-off the day with panels at historic Faneuil Hall. They discussed everything from sharing how they believe business is an adventure, success stories, and selecting finalists for the $1 Million Change the World Entrepreneur Competition. The day closed with a pub crawl along Lansdowne Street, hitting famous bars behind the Green Monster and around Fenway Park. If you made it to the Lansdowne Pub, you would have experienced a surprise visit by Jason Derulo at the karaoke bar!

Tuesday started with a healthy bang, with a meditation session led by Deepak Chopra in City Hall Plaza, as well as a run along the Charles River led by the greatest Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps. Later, attendees were able to listen to talks by hometown Olympic hero Aly Raisman, New England Patriots TE Marcellus Bennett, and Chef, Restaurateur, and Best-Selling Author Bobby Flay, to name a few. The day wrapped up with a Food Fest competition with the best young chefs in America, hosted by Chrissy Teigen and Boston-native Chris Coombs, chef and owner of Deuxave, Boston Chops, and Dbar.

The final day of the summit was a Service Day, complete with visits from Under 30 Honorees to local Boston schools and a “Hack-a-Thon for Good.” Randall Lane, editor of Forbes and founder of the Under 30 Summit, wanted to include a program of positivity, as his intention was to leave Boston a better place than they found it by the end of the summit.

This was the third year of the Under 30 Summit, with the previous year’s taking place in Philadelphia. The summit was previously invite-only, so the 2016 event represented a massive change in both scale, size and location. The summit was an enormous success, with over 150 speakers, attendees from over 50 countries and experiences for entrepreneurs across all areas of business with content hubs focusing on the themes: Technology, Impact, Capital and Create.

PAN was able to garner both local and national coverage for the successful Forbes Under 30 Summit. At the event, we coordinated logistics and were able to facilitate interviews between the media and some of the featured speakers at the event who were able to provide great insight into their respective industries. For example, theSkimm co-founders Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin discussed the changing news environment and their company's success, over four million subscribers only four years after its launch, with WBUR, Boston's NPR news station.

The Forbes Under 30 Summit embodied the type of innovation and excitement that exists in under 30 entrepreneurs today, and we look forward to next year to see Boston become the home for this type of game-changing conference. Austin has SXSW, Las Vegas has CES – and now hopefully Boston will have the Forbes Under 30 Summit!
