Tell us three fun facts about yourself.

  • I won first place in a figure skating competition at Pickwick Ice, a skating rink located in Burbank, California. Many TV shows have been filmed there, such as The Office, Gilmore Girls, and many others.
  • I enjoy taking long road trips with my family and boyfriend along the west coast. I’ve made the trip from L.A. to Portland and back again over five times (about 965 miles or just over 14 hours of straight driving).
  • Right before flying to Boston from Oregon (where I live and go to school currently) I celebrated my 22nd birthday on the Hawaiian Islands where I drank Mai Tais, went boogie boarding on the south end of Kauai, and got sunburned!

What made you go into PR and what do you love most about it?

After pursuing journalism for a couple years, I decided to switch my bachelor’s degree to public relations. So far, I’m happy I made that decision. PR combines all my favorite elements of reporting such as interviewing and working with people to tell a great story while also encompassing more creative outlets such as design, video and blogging.

natalie.jpgWhat made you select PAN? Initial impressions so far?

I chose to work at PAN this summer because I’m interested in pursuing a marketing career and this seemed like a great fit for me because PAN stresses work life balance as well as communication. It’s also been an excellent opportunity for me to move off of the west coast and live and work in a new city! So far, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and helpful. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Where can we find you on the weekends?

Because I am still new to the Boston Area, I’m open to new suggestions when it comes to great food and drink places around town! In the three days I have been in town, I’ve managed to stop by The Parish Café (on Boylston St.) and will be back probably later this week to try a different sandwich and cocktail!

Meghan Rimol, Intern

Tell us three fun facts about yourself.

  • At Syracuse I took an Introduction to Gymnastics class.
  • I’ve hiked Mt. Washington two times – once in the summer, and once to ski down Tuckerman’s Ravine.
  • Adam Sandler went to my rival high school.
What made you go into PR and what do you love most about it?

I’ve always loved to write and originally wanted to be a journalist, but after taking a few classes I found that I preferred to be on the other side of the story. Since getting into PR, I’ve discovered that I not only enjoy writing but everything that comes with it—research, social media, event planning, media relations, etc. I love being able to share the stories of different companies and organizations with the world, especially those who may not otherwise be heard.

What made you select PAN? Initial impressions so far?

I recently graduated from Syracuse, so I had heard PAN mentioned many times by professors and alumni and knew it had a great reputation. I also double majored in IT, so PAN’s focus on technology clients really appealed to me. Plus, its location right in downtown Boston couldn’t be better! Throughout my interview process every person I spoke with seemed to genuinely love their job, and that solidified the decision for me. So far everyone has been extremely welcoming, and I’m excited to continue to meet everyone in the office over the next few weeks.

Where can we find you on the weekends?

On the weekends, you’ll rarely find me sitting down. I love to run, bike, hike and swim, and in the winter I try to get up to the mountains to ski as often as possible.
